What would be the likely consequences if the Canadian Premier Doug Ford makes good on his threats to "cut off energy and critical mineral exports" to the US to retaliate against potential tariffs?

Watching the wildfires in various LA counties last night, seeing abandoned and destroyed cars lining the streets for miles and entire massive communities burned to the ground, I could not help but think about Trump’s tariff threats and Premier Ford’s retorts. The U.S. needs our exports more than it ever has before.
And many people who have lost their homes to fires, hurricanes, tornados etc. will not be able to rebuild because there will be a shortage of lumber. And if you can find lumber it will cost up to 10 times the price it was. That will lead to a severe housing crisis “the likes of which no one has ever seen.”
So, Canadians will survive just fine, but many people in the U.S. will suffer needlessly. But most of all- our country will have lost faith and trust in the U.S permanently. We will build strong long-term relationships with other countries and help their industries instead of helping yours.

For Canada, the immediate consequences would probably be a recession. For most crops, we would just by-pass the U.S growers and import from Mexico. We will have some short-term problems as we source a new primary trading partner for some of our commodities- but we will find other trading partners Canada has a fine reputation internationally- unlike the fickle U.S.
A Canadian here:
If Trump institutes tariffs on all the auto parts that we export to various manufacturing plants in the U.S., many brands of cars will become unavailable and prices for other brands will escalate. That’s just the law of supply and demand. And forget about manufacturing lithium batteries and electric vehicles if we cut off rare mineral exports to the U.S.
